For this reason, Scientia International formally endorses the
San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment (DORA), a global initiative committed to improving research evaluation practices worldwide.

Why DORA Aligns with Scientia International
From its foundation, Scientia International has been structured to promote responsible research assessment by:
- Not using the Journal Impact Factor or similar journal-level metrics in editorial decision-making;
- Prioritizing qualitative evaluation focused on originality, methodological rigor, and scholarly contribution;
- Adopting Open Peer Review, fostering transparency, accountability, and recognition of reviewers’ work;
- Valuing diverse forms of scholarly output (research articles, book chapters, edited volumes, and educationally derived academic outputs);
- Reducing linguistic bias through trilingual publication and multilingual metadata;
- Ensuring full Open Access under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license across all our publications.
For us, responsible assessment is not a reform initiative — it is part of our institutional design.

We publish in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, with metadata available in six languages, helping to reduce structural bias against non-English scholarship.
