At Scientia International, our editors are the driving force behind our mission to deliver open, multilingual, and high-impact science to a global audience. We offer distinct and rewarding opportunities for academic leaders and active researchers who are committed to scientific integrity and innovation.
We are actively seeking candidates for two vital roles: the strategic leadership position of Editor-in-Chief and the essential collaborative role of Associate Editor within our International Committee of Scientific Editors (ICSE).
We invite established researchers with a decisive vision to apply for the position of Editor-in-Chief. This is a premier, compensated role that offers the autonomy to shape a journal’s scientific direction, build a world-class editorial board, and make a lasting impact on your field. As an Editor-in-Chief, you are not just a manager; you are a strategic partner in our mission.
We have developed a comprehensive, phased Compensation Policy for Editors-in-Chief that includes a launch bonus, a guaranteed quarterly honorarium, performance bonuses for key milestones (such as Scopus/WoS indexing), and a share of the journal’s annual net revenue upon reaching maturity.
We also invite active researchers to join our ICSE as Associate Editors. In this vital, honorary position, you will manage the open peer-review process, ensure the quality of manuscripts, and gain valuable editorial experience. Your contribution is recognized through our Scientific Editors Rewards Program, which offers tangible benefits such as significant discounts and full waivers on Article Processing Charges (APCs) based on your annual editorial activity.
Regardless of the role, all our editors are ambassadors of science who champion our core values:
Rigor and Objectivity: Evaluating each article on its scientific and technical merit.
Transparency and Integrity: Upholding ethical practices in line with COPE guidelines through our open peer-review model.
Community Engagement: Fostering an open dialogue with authors and reviewers to continuously improve the publishing experience.
Innovation: Actively shaping the future of academic publishing and open science.
We are committed to full transparency. The detailed regulations for both editorial opportunities—the Compensation Policy for Editors-in-Chief and the Scientific Editors Rewards Program for Associate Editors—are available for review in the accordion sections below. Please explore the policy that corresponds to the role you are interested in.
When you are ready to join us, please proceed to our unified application form.
Important: In the form, please be sure to select the specific role you are applying for (Editor-in-Chief or Associate Editor).

Scientia International recognizes the fundamental role of Editors-in-Chief in consolidating the scientific excellence, editorial integrity, and long-term sustainability of its journals. This policy establishes a transparent, progressive, and merit-based compensation model, aligned with the highest international standards of editorial ethics and scientific management.
The compensation for Editors-in-Chief is structured into three progressive phases that reflect the natural life cycle of emerging scientific journals: initial implementation, intermediate consolidation, and editorial maturity. Each phase has clear, measurable, and achievable goals, with fixed quarterly honorariums supplemented by substantial non-financial benefits.
Payments are subject to applicable tax withholdings in the country of the paying source. The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for tax compliance in their country of residence. The legal relationship is established through a service provision agreement, governed by the law and jurisdiction defined in the instrument.
All compensation criteria, progression goals, and evaluation mechanisms are public, objective, and communicated in advance to the Editors-in-Chief.
Progression between phases is based on qualitative editorial achievements—indexing, selectivity, internationalization, scientific impact—and not exclusively on the volume of published articles.
The compensation model is structured to ensure the financial sustainability of Scientia International while offering fair and competitive compensation to Editors-in-Chief.
This policy applies equally to all Editors-in-Chief of the Scientia International Journals, regardless of gender, nationality, disciplinary area, or the journal’s publication model.
Period: The first 12 months from the formal appointment of the Editor-in-Chief.
Objective: Fundamental editorial structuring, formation of the editorial board, establishment of editorial policies, and initial submission acquisition.
Launch Bonus (Phase 1). The Editor-in-Chief will be entitled to a bonus of €1,200 (one thousand two hundred euros) at the end of Phase 1, contingent on the formal validation of the fulfillment of all goals. If all goals are met before the end of the period, the bonus becomes immediately payable (early completion). Payment will occur exclusively through the retention of up to 50% of the net revenue from each APC received after validation, until the full amount is paid. In the absence of APC revenue, Scientia is under no obligation to make a payment. The bonus is not subject to monetary updates, interest, or correction.
