Article Processing Charges (APC)

Commitment to open science, multilingualism, and editorial quality

Overview

Scientia International Press adopts an ethical, accessible, and sustainable publishing model, dedicated to the global dissemination of scientific knowledge in digital open-access format. All publications are assigned an individual DOI, licensed under Creative Commons, and include multilingual metadata, ensuring broad visibility and long-term digital preservation.

This APC (Article Processing Charges) policy applies to:

• Articles submitted to the scientific journals of Scientia International Journals

• Chapters submitted to thematic public calls for e-books published by Scientia International Press

APC for Journal Articles

Basic Publication Service – 450 euros
Includes the following components:

• Automated translation of the article into the three official publishing languages: Portuguese, Spanish, and English

• Editorial metadata provided in six languages: Portuguese, Spanish, English, French, German, and Mandarin

• Open peer review process, with public identification of authors and reviewers

• Indexing in international open-access directories and academic search engines

Optional Services:

• Premium Translation: professional revision of the automated translation (Portuguese, Spanish, or English) – additional 150 euros per language

• Expedited Review: peer review process completed within 15 business days – additional 200 euros

The journals of Scientia International accept manuscripts in any language. Approved articles are translated into Portuguese, Spanish, and English, while the original version is retained in the final published version.

APC for Chapters Submitted to Public E-book Calls

Publication fees vary according to the length of the text (measured in number of characters including spaces):

Character Ranges and Rates:

• Up to 30,000 characters: 250 euros

• 30,001 to 50,000 characters: 280 euros

• Over 50,000 characters: 300 euros

Included Services:

• Scientific assessment with peer review in a closed model

• Automated translation into one of the official publishing languages: Portuguese, Spanish, or English

• Metadata in six languages: Portuguese, Spanish, English, French, German, and Mandarin

• Editorial layout and assignment of an individual DOI

Optional Services:

• Premium Translation: professional revision of the automated translation (Portuguese, Spanish, or English) – additional 150 euros per language

• Expedited Evaluation: editorial evaluation completed within 15 business days – additional 120 euros

All approved chapters are published in a bilingual format: the original language and a mandatory translation into Portuguese, Spanish, or English. Final publication is licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 (CC BY-NC 4.0).

Discounts and Waivers

Authors affiliated with institutions located in low- and middle-income countries, as classified by Research4Life, are entitled to automatic discounts upon request:

• 20% discount for Group A countries

• 10% discount for Group B countries

Requests must be submitted at the time of manuscript submission using the “Comments to the Editor” field.

Other eligible cases for partial discounts:

• Authors affiliated with partner academic institutions

• Members of associated scientific societies

• Active reviewers and referees of Scientia International

Language Review

Scientia International upholds high linguistic standards in all its publications. All accepted articles and chapters undergo basic language editing at no additional cost. If a manuscript requires substantial revision, the author will be notified and asked to make corrections, which may impact the editorial timeline.

Funding and Institutional Support

Research funding agencies and academic institutions often allow the use of grant resources to cover APCs. Scientia International may also consider individual waiver or discount requests, especially those related to social, institutional, or educational projects.

Requests must be discussed with the editorial team at the time of submission.

Payment Methods

Scientia International accepts payments through the following methods:

• Digital platforms: PayPal and Stripe, with multi-currency support

• International bank transfer:

  • Corporate account in euros (European Union)

  • Corporate account in Brazilian reais (Brazil)

Payment must be completed within ten business days after editorial acceptance. Authors are responsible for checking any banking or currency conversion fees.

Important Notes

Only official invoices issued by Scientia International are valid for APC payments. The publisher does not authorize third parties to collect APCs on its behalf. Any questions regarding fees or payment methods must be directed to the editorial team.
