Scientia International Press, in partnership with Editora CLAEC, Centro Latino-Americano de Estudos em Cultura, announces the Call for Chapters for the collective volume:
Memory, Heritage, and Urban Mobility: Narratives of Everyday Life
This book is part of the Scientia Global Editions: CLAEC e-Books collection and invites interdisciplinary contributions that explore the intersections between cultural heritage, social memory and urban mobility through everyday narratives and lived experiences.
About the Book
Urban life is shaped not only by infrastructure and planning, but also by daily movements, memories and symbolic practices that give meaning to spaces and trajectories. This volume proposes a critical reflection on how heritage, mobility and memory are experienced, narrated and negotiated in everyday urban contexts.
Situated within the fields of Urban Anthropology and Heritage Studies, the book brings together perspectives grounded in ethnography, participant observation and oral narratives to understand how urban dynamics and processes of heritagization are lived in cities marked by territorial, social and gender inequalities.
The volume welcomes contributions that examine how individuals and groups construct meanings around urban mobility, heritage practices and memory-making, highlighting everyday experiences as key analytical lenses for understanding contemporary urban realities.
