The Scientia International Journal for Earth Sciences is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Ringo Benjamim Victor as its Founding Editor-in-Chief.
Based in Mozambique, Dr. Victor is a geographer, researcher and university professor with academic and professional experience in Geography, geosciences, environmental studies and territorial research.
His appointment marks an important step in the development of the Scientia International Journal for Earth Sciences, strengthening the journal’s academic leadership and its commitment to high-quality, multilingual and open access scientific publishing.
An academic profile in geography, geosciences and environmental research
Dr. Ringo Benjamim Victor holds a PhD in Geography from São Paulo State University, UNESP, Brazil, completed in 2017. He also holds a Master’s degree in Soils and Ecosystem Quality from the Federal University of Recôncavo da Bahia, UFRB, Brazil, completed in 2014, and a degree in Geography Teaching from the Pedagogical University of Mozambique, completed in 2010.
His academic trajectory connects Geography, environmental analysis, soil studies, ecosystem quality, territorial research and higher education. This background aligns closely with the mission of the Scientia International Journal for Earth Sciences, which seeks to promote scientific research on Earth systems, geosciences, geography, environmental dynamics and the interactions between society, territory and nature.
Research, teaching and academic leadership
Dr. Victor is currently a faculty member at the Faculty of Geosciences and Environment of Universidade Púnguè, in Tete, Mozambique. He also serves as Director of the Research Centre of Universidade Púnguè, based in the Province of Tete.
Throughout his academic career, he has participated in several national and international scientific events, where he has presented research papers and contributed to academic debates in Geography and related fields.
He has published scientific articles in national and international journals, contributed chapters to books and co-authored the book Geografia 12 – Pré-universitário. During his graduate studies in Brazil, he was supported by research scholarships from FAPESB, during his Master’s degree, and CAPES, during his doctoral studies.
Strengthening the journal’s editorial development
As Founding Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Ringo Benjamim Victor will provide academic and strategic leadership for the Scientia International Journal for Earth Sciences. His role will include contributing to the development of the journal’s scope, thematic sections, editorial board, peer review standards and international positioning.
The journal will be supported by Scientia International’s editorial and technical team, which provides operational support for the OJS platform, editorial workflows, DOI assignment, metadata, multilingual publication, institutional communication and publication processes.
Through this structure, the Editor-in-Chief can focus on academic leadership, editorial quality, the development of the journal’s scientific identity and the consolidation of a strong international network of authors, reviewers and editorial board members.
